The award-winning (really!) crossover epic that examines the confrontation between explorers going where no one has gone before and a galaxy far, far away. A chance encounter with a wormhole causes the long-lost starship Voyager to encounter a small fleet led by Grand Admiral Thrawn. The meeting changes both galaxies forever. The use of an Imperial hyperdrive to return Voyager home leads to a Federation technological advantage that threatens to plunge the entire quadrant into war. The Emperor, upon learning of this group, cancels his plans to visit his incomplete Death Star to begin plotting a political invasion of this new galaxy. The struggling rebels now find themselves trapped between the Imperial war machine and the unstoppable fleet of the Borg.

But all this, Jean-luc Picard learns, is just the first step towards galactic unity. Shifting alliances and political machinations shape the faces of the galaxies, and whole worlds are destroyed in their struggles. The question of what form Unity will take - a union of peace, or a kingdom of tyranny, looms over all. And throughout it all, two people from opposite sides of the wormhole find themselves drawn to one another, which will not only shape these events, but will in time offer the forces of light their best chance to win. But nothing is certain, and many will fall along the way, and just as many will betray their former allies.
