The Vong are on the ropes, or so it seems until a new force attacks the Milky Way forces of the Empire. General Taar and his new Borg allies struggle to resist, but with the growing power of Nom Anor's faction, even they may not be enough to hold back this power. Bringing the Borg and the Empire together seems to be only the beginning for Sebastian.

Matters are compounded by the Oracle and her Sith forces. The recent setback has only fueled her drive to topple the Empire and build her own twisted version of the Federation in its place. Annika, trapped in her clutches, is forced to watch her former captain and friend perform one act of cruelty after another. But can she find a way to stop the Oracle?
